Mythological creatures consist both universal and individual pulled out from human psyche. Therefore myth symbolizes a variety of analog situations, which represent human inner and outer struggle on his path to development. In ethically-psychological interpretation of Mythological creatures, they indicate some of the inner state functions and their in-between relations are expressing intra-psychical life of people. For Plato myths were the way of translating what is coming out of thought and not out of knowable/historical fact. No matter on which system we use to interpret, they help in observing some of the dimensions of human reality and they show the symbolic function of imagination.
Inspired by the mythical stories I’ve started to recognize an archetype of mythical creatures in contemporary human. By realizing that those kinds of creatures live no meter the time and space in which they are, their today’s characteristics can only have different visual presentation, while psychical profile always stays recognizable. So my intention is to draw the attention on that way of observing the world that surrounds us and to help observers become participants of that “live” picture. |
